The so-called Third World has come to be my most important field of activity. I have travelled and worked in Africa, the Middle East and Asia, and produced news reports and films dealing with the political situation and issues relating to human survival. I have consciously chosen to concentrate on those countries and issues that others, for the most part, overlook. My journalistic projects are, for the most part, self-initiated, though I do also take on assignments – as long as these do not conflict with my journalistic integrity. An assignment can be in the form of a film, a newspaper article or book.
